What is Sickle Cell Disease?

Sickle cell disease (SCD) is an inherited blood condition that affects the shape of red blood cells. These cells can become hard and sickle-shaped, making it harder for blood and oxygen to move around the body. People living with sickle cell may experience pain, fatigue, and other health challenges — but with the right support, care, and awareness, they can thrive. Our mission is to raise awareness, fight stigma, and support everyone affected by sickle cell.
